Born in 1992 in Amman, Jordan, a distinguished filmmaker, acclaimed Student Academy Award winner, and esteemed member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
In 2014, Murad earned his first degree in Design and Visual Communication with a focus on film at the German-Jordanian University in Amman. His academic journey included a year abroad at the Technical University Würzburg-Schweinfurt in Germany. After obtaining his Bachelor's degree, Murad directed several short films that spotlight human-driven narratives from the Arab world. In 2023, he completed his studies in film directing at the prestigious Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
Murad's breakthrough as a screenwriter and director came in 2021 with his film "Tala'vision," which garnered numerous honours, including Best Film at the Rhode Island Film Festival, the Golden Yusr at the Red Sea Film Festival, and the Gold Medal at the Student Academy Awards. In 2022, "Tala'vision" made the official shortlist for the 94th Academy Awards, leading to Murad's acceptance into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Murad Abu Eisheh's films are renowned for their focus on socio-political injustices and their critical examination of entrenched social structures in the Eastern Mediterranean region. His graduation film, "A Calling. From the Desert. To the Sea," exemplifies this mission, addressing the liberation of young women from patriarchal confines and the confrontation of fears instilled by controlling fathers.
